Question by Lord of Chaos: Why do most energy drinks give me digestive problems?
I like energy drinks, but I work a job that I can’t always be running to the bathroom.
Why are there no energy drinks that don’t mess up my lower digestive system?

You don’t mention which energy drinks give you these symptoms. Fructose, choline, and caffeine can all cause loose stools, which I’m assuming is your “lower digestive system” problem. If your energy drink has sorbitol, be aware sorbitol is a laxative. Many of the herbs, vitamins, and supplements in energy drinks can cause indigestion and increased gastric emptying.
If you are having low energy at work, you may want to consider taking a daily B vitamin complex. B vitamins, which are also present in some energy drinks, help your body convert food into fuel. (B vitamins can also turn your urine fluorescent yellow, but it’s harmless.) If you take other medications, or have health problems, don’t take vitamins without checking with your physician first.
