Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Making the Comparison- 5 Hour Energy Shots vs. Other Energy Drinks
Introduced to the energy supplement marketplace in 2004, 5 Hour Energy is considered the original two-ounce energy shot. Despite dozens of comparable products, 5 Hour Energy remains the most recognized and most popular energy shot; among consumers.
Many of the energy drinks found in today’s marketplace, contain unwanted ingredients and additives. These have been known to include (up to):
12 tsp. of sugar 200 calories 16 oz. of fluid
Often, the combination of these ingredients can leave consumers “wired”, and prone to an undesirable “sugar crash”. In contrast, the 5 hour energy shot contains no sugar, as little as four calories; and as much caffeine as a cup of premium coffee. Best of all, 5 hour energy shots contain a blend of B vitamins, amino acids, essential nutrients and no herbal stimulants. This product can provide more energy; with less to drink and faster results.
Some energy drinks come in sizes that range from 8 to 32 ounces, and must be refrigerated to taste right. The 5 Hour Energy shot taste good at any temperature, and are sold in a convenient 2 oz bottle; for easy storage and transport. Furthermore, the small container can be resealed for later consumption; if required. It is however, strongly recommended that consumers discard any remainder; within seventy-two hours of opening. Refrigeration is still not required.
It is important to note that 5 Hour Energy does contain caffeine, and as such, consumers should limit their intake; to avoid nervousness, sleeplessness and occasional rapid heartbeat. The developers of this energy product, have advised participants to limit their consumption, to two bottles of 5 Hour Energy shots a day; consumed several hours apart. As well, participants may experience a warm feeling, with related redness of the skin redness. This is known as a Niacin Flush, and is a result of increased blood flow near the skin; caused by Niacin (Vitamin B3). This effect should last only a few minutes.

Is Caffeine Necessary For Weight Loss Supplements?
With the explosion on the market of 4 hour+ energy shots that contain zero caffeine, I question the value of caffeine in weight loss products and energy pills in general. One major problem is that there are so many sources of caffeine in the diet, including coffee, chocolate, soda pop (diet and regular) and now just about every dietary supplement. Most pre-workout NO products contain some form of caffeine.
