Do I Rely Too Much On Energy Drinks?

The current popularity of energy drinks is quite astonishing if you stop to think about it.  Millions of these drinks are consumed within the United States every day.  Many people think that this trend is contained only to teenagers, but people of all ages are relying increasingly more on these drinks for their energy.  If you are one of them, you may want to ask yourself the question, “Do I rely too much on energy drinks?”

It is safe to say that if you drink more than two of these each day, you should probably consider other options for your energy needs.  The energy that you get from these drinks is often in the form of a short boost from caffeine.  While caffeine is a natural substance found in coffee, tea, and soda drinks, it is generally not accepted as a long-term treatment for lack of energy.  If you are relying on energy drinks for a daily boost, you are relying on a short-term solution to a long-term problem.

If you need two or more energy drinks every day, you may be suffering from a serious condition that requires medical attention. Many different things can cause a lack of energy.  It could be something as simple as not getting enough sleep at night or having irregular sleeping patterns.  Or your lack of energy could be due to something more serious, such as a disease, illness, or a chronic condition. 

It is probably not a good idea to continue to replace your energy completely with energy boosting drinks for extended lengths of time. One proven way to improve your energy level is to start a workout regimen and follow it closely.  Exercising will give your body a natural boost that is much healthier than what you will get from energy drinks.

In conclusion, energy drinks can be used as an effective supplement to boost your energy on occasion, but only as long as they are used sparingly, and not as a main source of energy.  If you regularly use these drinks you may want to ask yourself the question, “Do I rely too much on energy drinks?”  The chances are good that the answer will be “yes.”
