Question by Ļoving♥ girĻ♥: Is it good to drink an energy drink before a work out?
I’ve heard that energy drinks really aren’t good for you, though I heard that some men drink it before working out. I’m curious to know, is it good for you to drink before exercising?

It depends if its a long workout its fine to drink energy drinks meaning you should have 2 hours of workout and drink only one bottle of an energy drink per 1 hour & 30 minutes of workout. But i suggest not to drink energy drinks if its only 30 minutes of a work out that would not be good for your health.

Yes and no. For the record, I like energy drinks and I drink them often. They can boost energy levels and many of them contain a variety of healthy ingredients. However, they also contain a number of questionable ingredients, such as high levels of caffeine. While this may be good for staying awake or for short bursts of energy, large amounts of caffeine can have a diuretic affect which can cause the body to become dehydrated. Hydration is especially important when working out, so if you do consume caffeine or energy drinks before a workout, make sure you are consuming plenty of non-caffeinated fluids as well (preferably water or sports drinks containing electrolytes). Another potential danger of energy drinks is elevated heart rate — people with heart conditions or those who are at high risk for having heart conditions should avoid energy drinks. Intense exercise can elevate the heart rate even further, leading to a potentially life threatening situation.
Those things aside, it all depends on the individual. Some people are more sensitive to caffeine than others. Some people hydrate better than others. Some people are healthier and therefore less likely to suffer adverse affects from overstimulation of the heart. And finally, everything in moderation — energy drink makers themselves suggest that you should not consume more than 2 or 3 cans a day (and no more than 1 within a span of a few hours). For most fit, healthy individuals, consuming 1 energy drink before a workout is not going to cause them any harm as long as they stay hydrated and don’t overexert themselves.
When you exercise you sweat and lose electrolytes, most energy drinks contain electrolytes which hydrate the body. So I would say drink them after you exercise.
