So who’s the pretty boy drinking from the little can?
Lance Armstrong has become the official poster boy for bicycling, cancer survival, and now a little company called FRS Healthy Energy. So why should we listen to him and try this supposed healthy energy drink?
Some research and a few trials later, and here is an unbiased FRS Healthy Energy drink review that might help connect the dots between the famous cycler and his re-hydration and energizing drink of choice.
FRS Healthy Energy Drink Review: Taste
Not my favorite taste in the entire world, although I do enjoy it more than sports drinks like Gatorade and I certainly like it better than the super sweet typical energy drinks like Red Bull. FRS energy drink tastes much more like a fruit juice than a soda. It comes in Lemon Lime, Orange, Peach Mango and Wild Berry. I like the orange flavor the best and I like to stick with the non-diet or low-cal one because I like to avoid artificial sweeteners.
There’s a slight bitterness to the flavor which comes from the company’s aim to provide healthy products that won’t overload you with sugar and lead to an eventual crash. Which brings me to the next and most important part of the review.
FRS Healthy Energy Drink Review: Boost
The boost is steady and strong rather than jolting. I feel a quick onset of a subtle energy boost if that makes sense at all. Basically, there is not initial spike in energy but rather a feeling like you had a great night’s sleep and have been eating and exercising well for the past month. It’s great for working out but I also like drinking it just on an ordinary day because the ingredients are beneficial and I like the feeling of having a steady flow of natural energy throughout the day.
The boost kicks in around thirty minutes after consuming the drink and lasts for hours before it gradually fades, but there is no actual crash like with many energy drinks. It definitely does its job of warding off fatigue. I can’t speak for the thousands who report that FRS Healthy Energy promotes a general boost in overall health as I’m a relatively healthy individual to begin with. But this leads nicely in to the next part of my FRS drink review.
FRS Healthy Energy Drink Review: Benefits
The secret ingredient in this drink is called quercetin, which is a powerful antioxidant derived from such fruits and vegetables as apples, grapes and onions. FRS combines this antioxidant with vitamins such as B-complex to enable the most efficient intake and processing of quercetin. Quercetin serves to stimulate the body’s mitochondria production, turning your own body into its own energy-production machine.
In addition to the energy boost, the healthy ingredients promote general health as well as weight loss, better metabolism and increased productivity, focus and mental clarity. This is why FRS Healthy Energy, which originally served the sports and fitness market, is not being more and more popular amongst workers and students who need an energy drink that is healthier and that can keep them energized for more prolonged periods at work or school.

We’re big fans of FRS! Great tasting, good energy, and affordable. The chews are perfect. The cans are perfect size for a gym bag. The concentrate is tastey. Low cal orange is perfect. We highly recommend you trying it out!
Agree, Sean, and thanks for the comment.
I prefer the regular over the low calorie FRS though, only because I try to avoid artificial sweeteners, but if I wasn’t using it for working out, I could certainly see the appeal. Also a fan of the chews – so convenient.
